Whether you have missing teeth because of decay, an accident, or other circumstance, you know it can be both a functional and cosmetic interruption in your everyday life. Midlothian Dental Arts has several solutions to suit your needs and improve the form and function or your teeth.
Implants
Implants are a great solution for missing teeth. Because implants look and feel like natural teeth, they are a very reliable long-term solution for missing teeth. Implant posts can also be used to hold in dentures, especially lower dentures. After receiving implants, many patients wonder why they waited so long.
Our office has a Cone Beam (3D Imaging System), which allows us to preview the implant field so we can offer you an accurate treatment plan. Implants treatment usually occurs in three phases. We begin with a surgical phase where the bad tooth or teeth are removed and the site is grafted. The area is then allowed to heal for three to four months. During this time, temporary teeth are made so you can still smile with confidence.
The second step involves placing the ‘implant post’ and allowing it to integrate with the bone. This occurs in three to four months. During the third phase, we construct the tooth called a ‘crown’ that sits above the gum and fits into the abutment which joins the implant post and the crown.
Bridges
Bridges can also help restore smiles that suffer from missing teeth. Bridges are comprised of a filler tooth and crowns that are bonded into the mouth where the tooth is missing. Bridges can be placed quickly and without surgical procedures.
Dentures
Whether in need of full or partial dentures, patients who are missing many teeth will find them to be an ideal solution.

Customized to fit a patient’s individual mouth, dentures are prosthetic teeth designed to improve cosmetic appearance and function. Dentures can restore a patient’s confidence as well as their ability to do everyday tasks such as speaking and eating.
